Lion Chief Plus will work without the remote, simple conventional raise and lower the voltage on a transformer handle.

Legacy is command control (wireless remote, control of more features than Lion Chief or Lion Chief Plus, requires command base and remote not included with engine purchase).

These are defined in the front of the catalog (at least they have been - I didn't just re-confirm). It's a good tutorial.
