Those who ordered the new Lionel Moguls probably have received them like myself and have been running them to log some break in time and to evaluate the low speed performance as some owners are reporting some running issues . So in the middle of this , a little humor is injected into the proceedings. As the outside starts to get cooler, our basements will provide nice warm areas for crickets to migrate. So while I was running the Central Vermont Mogul with a short freight, I noticed a cricket crossing the track. Instinctively, I sounded the engines whistle and that cricket dashed across the track to get out of the way. So you thought it was over? Nah!. When the train passed, the cricket reversed direction and walked back across the tracks . Didn't see him for the rest of the operating session. Seems to be a cute moment in Hi Rail Hi Jinks.
