Brian,

No offense intended I hope none taken. I just wonder to myself when I read a post saying "I do not preorder but will pick one up after I see one" or like you said " I will pick one up after the bugs have been worked out"........do they ever find one?

All the time. The larger dealers i.e. Charles Ro, Trainworld, almost always have extras for several months after delivery.

If that doesn't work theres often a smaller dealer with one sitting on the shelf if you hunt.

There are several bto locos from a year ago that currently can be had for upwards of $200 LESS than the best preorder price when originally offered.

This has been discussed before. It's ALWAYS been bto, just nowadays Lionel is pushing the idea to make the hobbyist feel like they will "miss out".

All the excitement over Lionel addressing the issues with this mogul.

What about the novel idea that it simply ran right out of the box??, not to mention the crummy cast coal load.

Lionel claims they were all tested. Oh the irony that they all run poorly when they get delivered. I've seen other videos by folks not yet complaining, and you can still see the jerking.

I used to preorder, not anymore. Between items not being delivered as described and the customer being the beta tester I'll pass.

If it's good, and it runs properly I'll gladly pay a few extra dollars since the guy who preordered has to return it  and pay additional shipping anyway.
