I am a Pennsy guy so I did not order a FEF engine let alone a 838 so I was not disappointed. However I do remember looking at the catalog which showed the same injectors on the 838 as the 844. Even though the bullet point about each engine having specific injectors I thought " how are they going to do that without changing the molds". I also thought if I was Lionel I would rather have the molds represent the 844 as the majority of people would buy that one not the 838. Don't know if that's what happened but it is my guess. I can see why guys who ordered the 838 would be a little peeved. I do think Lionel is doing a good job with road specific details. Their engines may not be 100% accurate but neither am I.
