As many of you railroad aficionados know, The Putnam Division of the NY Central (The Put) was a financially struggling branch line railroad that ran relatively short passenger and freight trains from the Sedgewick Avenue Station in the Bronx, NY (near the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium) through Westchester County to Brewster, NY in Putnam County, NY.
It has given me great pleasure to gradually add features to my layout that make it more reminiscent of The Put. This includes adding my Popsicle Stick Polo Grounds (I already had Yankee Stadium from the get go), a log loader to supply Loyds Lumber (lumber was an industry serviced by the Put), milk cars and farm with cows (there were dairy farms along The Put in Northern Westchester County) and various trains and train cars that are models of the real thing that rolled down the rails of The Put.
I will be posting numerous photos and videos on this thread of the trains I have that are models of what ran on The Put. If you have any such models, I would love to see them.
In the meantime, I will start us off with Sally the Yard Goat (the star of the show on another recent thread in the Lionel Service Forum) who shuttles passenger and freight cars in the yard of The Put in my basement:
