The 3D Puzzle is a much smaller scale would look good on the top of a hill over a loop of track for the train.
As for light in it, no do not think that would work, it is printed paper face and foam behind for structure. I think at best a light inside would just show up the jagged puzzle edges.
Sure wish there was a good source for the figures though, perhaps we could Lionel to make them?
