on another topic, I'm looking for some suggestions. I've done some research but my experience and expertise is limited on this so I'm hoping that someone might have a bit more experience and can lend me an idea or three.

I am going to be constructing a 'carousel' in my layout, something that will continually move (so not a railroad turnaround). All of the mechanics will need to fix within a 2" high space with virtually unlimited horizontal space. I am looking for suggestions on how to power it and was thinking about using a small electric RC motor then attack a gear to it and another gear under the turntable to translate the rotation from motor to disk.

I'll try and put up a diagram it I can to better illustrate my plans, but does that sound reasonable? Has anyone else done something like this?
