This item from the early sixties reminded me that model trains are a family affair

In 1962 I received a Lionel set from a relative who had two daughters that couldn't care less about the trains. 736 loco, twin-bin dump car, bay window caboose etc and a ZW transformer. The loose simulated coal used in the dump car made a mess so my grandmother made little coal sacks. I found one of them in a box and it took me back in time. I can easily imagine my grandma sitting in her chair and knitting these for me. The sack now resides by itself in the #3359 car.
