My thoughts on track are simple:

Atlas looks the best.
Gar Graves with Ross turnouts gives the least trouble.
Paint the track (including the ties) from a spray can with Rust Oleum Camo Green for the main lines and Camo Brown for spurs and yard tracks, before ballasting it. Then, use Brennan's Better Ballast for a realistic looking track.
