For my old Z1000, I did actually use that little side handle knob thing if I was sitting at the panel. I would grab the center circle if I was standing.

For my Legacy remote, I hold the remote and use my thumb to spin the wheel.

I always felt like transformers could have a cooler method than just a dial. I like the lever style.
