TIU RevL Signal Degradation On One Channel

I have two TIUs that are experiencing signal degradation on one or two channels but still work. I have the Service Bulletin:

5-22-18A - Rev L TIU Mod Change - Diode

It mentions removing the old mod but is not very clear. Can anyone elaborate on that?

Does the DCS chip for the affected channel need replaced as well?
