From my experience the two systems do not work together. I recall that Odyssey doesn't work with other cruse systems so at the least it has to be turned off. And the ERR cruse doesn't use timing tapes. The number of steps built into the throttle programs are different as well.

I'm sure someone like Gunrunner John can explain it better than I can, but that's the gist of it.
