Tmcc controlled with dcs smoke problem

Hi everyone ,

after few years running trains only in dcs/mth I decided to take a plunge and wired TIU,TMCC and LEGACY together .i like it and I am learning but I can not get a lionel big steamer to smoke,switch is on,remote is one and the engine seems to acknowledge the command on/off with a sneez but no smoke or sounds from the little fan motor.

any help is really appreciated.
