To seal or not to seal?

As you can tell by by signature, my layout will be in a clean, yet unfinished, basement. The framing is untreated pine due to rising lumber costs and the fact I have college tuition to pay for.

I will be using 2" thick sheets of styrofoam (pink or green) for the layout top since it will not have to support anyone's weight.

Should I bother with sealing the benchwork framing and if so, what product do you recommend?
