Traction Tires for Lionel Steamers (Lion Chief)

I have a Pennsylvania Flyer 080 and a Polar Express Berkshire 2-8-4.
The Flyer needs a new tire, and I am wondering....
Do all Lionel steamers take the same size?

Also, I have read several places that MTH tires are better than the Lionel tires.
Is there anything to that?
