From 1960 through 1967 on a hot Summer evening we would drive to the old P&LE Smithfield St Station and wait for the Capitol. After climbing aboard I would head for High Dome (or it's sister), which is where I would spend the night trip to Chicago. That air conditioned Dome was such a relief after the heat of a Summer night:
