yes if the tvs diode shorts while in the engine and if power stays on you will melt the red n black wires from the pick roller to the engine boards ! the big problem is if you install then every where it will help protect your engines but on the other hand you won't initially know where your short is or what engine it is in, or if its at a terminal block if you install them everywhere!

kind of what you want out of the tvs for protection but might take many hours to ,locate your shorted diode, sometime they don't short they just open up, when they open up you lost your protection from the tvs diodes that failed open!
