Having built two Whistle-Stop Diner kits, I am following your posts with great interest. Just one comment. The window construction on my two (much older) kits is very different from yours. On my kits, the window openings were not pre-cut, so I did not encounter a problem with unequal window sizes. Rather, the openings were constructed with individual window posts applied to the side sheets. I do have photos if you're interested. It would be possible to do your windows in the same way.
