I believe you could run two Remote Commanders on the same layout with each controlling its own isolated loop. However the receivers would have to be shielded from one another so you could point the remote at one without the intended infrared signal being picked up by the other. Some of us with Sanyo television sets have already become proficient at sharing the remote with other devices by shielding one from the other. Most of the time the palm of your hand is a sufficient shield. It's very convenient to be able to change TV channels with your train remote.
