That was the reason I went to command operation over conventional. With command operation you may run multiple trains on a single track and adjust speed, stopping etc. with handheld devices and worry about relays and mechanically controlling trains. I switched from my 10 conventional engines in 2006 to running 70 command engines with 37 trains running simultaneously during one operating session. I had multiple helpers with each one assigned to a loop with 2 to 4 trains and a handheld for each loop.
