Understanding The LCS SERIAL CONVERTER 2 (SER2)

Hello everyone

I'm thinking about using the Lionel LCS system for my GTW Trenton & Western layout.
Can anyone confirm if the LCS Serial Converter (SER2) will allow me to control the TMCC SC-2 Switch Controller with LCS?

Any info you can offer is appreciated!
