Ron, going from silhouettes to detailed passenger car interiors will make a big difference. I would recommend starting with the baggage car. If you don’t like the results the first time, it’s an easy interior to try again. Here’s a photo of how my packages/luggage started out. I just kept adding more until I got the amount I liked. Post your Northern Pacific car photos as you finish them!
