I missed my chance at seeing 4014 as my wife and I went to a week-long tour of Colorado tourist RRs the previous month, so no way I had the time to get to Utah and I didn't wanna fight those crowds anyway.
It was scheduled to come up to the Pacific NW (probably no further than Portland as that's as far as 3985 came several years ago) but COVID killed that. I was hoping maybe they'd run 4014 up here this year but I wouldn't bet on that. They'd done all the planning, so I hope once life gets somewhat back to normal, I'll finally get to see a Big Boy in steam.
One thing, though; I really hope they'll take the painted "chalk marks" off the firebox door. Only 4000 had that marking for a very short time (though some debate even that, and I've never seen photos of the real markings) and while it was funny for the first few runs, I wanna see 4014 as she was intended!
