That is actually good for my use. I use MTH boards and the 4 ohms works out perfect. If I had to get to 8 ohms from 4, I would try to use a second speaker where possible wired in series, over the resistor. I have to believe that it would be better to have an 8 ohm or even 2-16 ohms in parallel though. If it works, that's all that matters.
