All TIU black output grounds should be connected together at the rear of the TIU, and then connected to the ground bus. Except for the original Rev G TIUs, TIUs have no internal connection among the black circuits.

FWIW, on my layout there are no connections to the black input terminals of the TIUs. I run no ground at all through the TIUs
