Don't use any of the circuitry on those boards. Just cut the leads to the existing LEDs (thankfully the leads have some extra wire to work with) and power them with 12 volts DC and the 560 ohm resistor John suggested. The board even shows you which lead on the LED is negative. It looks like that board has seen better days anyway. Lots of ugly solder work there.

Hi Rich, Thanks for the advice, John is an invaluable help to all of us. the board has seen many days since 1957 to the early 60's when these cars were made for the City of New York, every part on there is original OEM. I forgot to mention, on the other side of the cab is the men's room. I still have to hang the motorman's cab door and the sink. It's a work in progress.
