Reply to "Vintage New Haven GE EP3 by Silvermine 1936"

I'm interested in knowing how many such kits and completed models were sold by Parmele & Sturges and Silvermine. I expect very few. You would think that people who spent a lot of money and bought these as completed models or kits would have taken care of them or built them so that some well-preserved examples would still exist. The fact that completed models from kits seem to be rare leads me to believe that people who bought kits did not complete them - perhaps because they did not have the necessary skills or tools.

I think that Parmele & Sturges were located on Crown Street in New Haven, Connecticut. A few years ago I took the train to New Haven and saw the building where they did business.

I'm a New Haven fan and have several modern EP-3 models by MTH.
