Well, unless you have an antenna issue connection, I'd suspect the R2LC. The fact that the operation is flaky and the headlight doesn't work 100% leads me to believe that's the bad part. Nothing else in the headlight circuit, and since it was on, it obviously isn't bad wiring.

One question however. Does that unit have LED headlights? Atlas had some engines with LED's and they didn't provide the load capacitors to trigger the lighting triacs. The symptom was flaky headlight operation.

Can you borrow an R2LC from another locomotive for a test?
