It is a clear, cold early morning start for the eastbound freight. The yard lights are bright as the engineer finishes his coffee and the conductor works on the manifest back in the cabin. The fireman is fast asleep but the engineer won't wake him until they start out. Good thing the engineer's wife gave him a large thermos of coffee today.
The engineer is thankful he didn't get the BF-15s; last time out the B unit failed.
Looks like a good day as the century closes in on being half over.
