Putting KDs and wheel bearings in the G scale USA Trains autorack.
Seems you run an awful lot of 1:29 equipment given your MTH 1:32 locomotives. Do you just put 1:29 right behind the engines or do you put some 1:32 in-between?
I put freight together anywhere in the consist. It just does not bother me about the size difference. I see so many differences on the real trains that I get a kick out of some comments on my videos.
I do admit, that for some reason I can't stand putting 1/32 and 1/29 scale passenger trains together. I really wonder if some of the so called 1/29 passenger equipment is oversized? The LGB Genesis and cars are definitely built to a larger scale.
The 10% volume difference might be more present in a passenger train where you have uniform cars throughout as opposed to a mixed freight where you don't necessarily have uniform cars one after another?
The width is the big question for me with the freight. AML and Aristocraft have produced a number of models I like but the 1:29 width dimension seems more noticable with 40' cars.
