Reply to "Weekend Photo Fun 7-23-21-??"

Photos of fun for this fine weekend!   Thanks Scott for getting us started today!  Great photos!  Gary - terrific looking grandkids!  I love that you keep them involved with trains

My photos of fun have to do with all of the day and night action at the commuter station.  Not only different commuter train numbers but the variety of trains and railroads that work out of a single station themselves.   Passenger stations of any kind have always intrigued me because of the variety of action which takes place there.

Here we have an east bound Western Maryland commuter train stopped at the station.  In reality the WM only ran local trains, except for a few years, in the earlier part of the 20th century,  when they ran all Pullman trains from Baltimore - Chicago via the P&LE and NYC into Chicago.   fullsizeoutput_539

Late night commuter trains arrive heading west.  At left a Baldwin Shark heads up a commuter while a B&O RDC train is on the adjacent track.IMG_2215729 t

About 9 p.m. daily light savings time, an B&O RDC departs eastbound as a trolly glides by on the EL. IMG_2206

The photographer caught all simultaneous action as a Hudson brings its train into the station. IMG_4337

To most passengers this view is just another eye sore, however, to the rail fan who snapped this photo from the window of an RDC this photo is pure beauty!   One might think of this scenario as one point of view viewed through two different lenses.  IMG_0082
