This past winter, I decided it was time to start over on my layout. Two years ago I had back surgery. My old layout was too wide for me to reach. It hurt both to crawl under and pop up, or to crawl over the layout. So, my wife and I started having a standard date night on Friday. We would go out to eat, come home and work down stairs dismantling, and start building the bench work. We finished the bench work this weekend. What is left to do is build a shelf along the bottom of the center island and build storage shelves along the front of the layout and the center island. The overall dimensions are 14.5’ x 22.5’. Then we’ll start laying some track and wiring. Can’t wait!
