Well, it's been some time since I've popped some stuff in here, and while it wasn't this weekend, it was last weekend.
This is from Steamtown last weekend of Baldwin 26. The most fun I had without actually getting into Steamtown. My niece was late because her son James was stubborn to get moving. We decided to hit the Trolley Museum and took a ride out on the trolley to the baseball stadium where the Railriders play. When we came back, we hit the Italian Festival. Once done with lunch, we saw the time and knew that there was no way we'd get into Steamtown to really do anything.
Inside the Trolley Museum, we talked to a retired subway worker. All the stuff on that side of the museum he donated as to educate the public. And no small surprise, all the equipment still works(disconnected now, but hook it up and it'll work). The man had said there's nothing wrong with it, just that progress makes way for the new and gets rid of the old. That stuff lasted 80 years, and he said it could last another, might have to replace the wiring, that's it.
I think he really enjoyed talking to us as much as we enjoyed talking to him. He had said that originally it was 4 of the, now down to 2. He had a young assistant maybe in his very early 20's. A good group of guys they were volunteering their time hoping that someone will appreciate their efforts. I know that my brother Steve, my niece Jamie, her husband Greg and myself do. My great niece Elizabeth and her brother James are a little young yet, but an 8 and 5 year old had a great time as they always do.
