Well that is some fabulous tin plate fellows...especially the Leipzig stations.  Fatman in regard to the Distler 3501 I note the "cow catcher" on the pilot vs buffers...could this one have been targeted at the US market?  Scale Rail - the CW train shown, is that Ives?  Great stream crossing as well (can't really say bridge) maybe correct term is culvert.  NWL great repair/restoration job on the 1680 its really beautiful.

Well with all this exotic tin plate I feel a bit like a piker, but my latest acquisition is a Hafner freight.  I just received it this week and I am in the process of getting it fully ready to run.  Mechanism is fine but it needs lube and some attention, right now it is way down on pulling power.  The cars are quite good - all of the streamlined type.

Here is the full consist - yellow/red box type car is labeled "Refrigerator" and "Overland Route".  I have another set with what appears to be about the same car but labeled "automobile car".  Engine is CW of course and the tender while full black has a stamped lettering embossed on the side that says "Hafner" .

Hafner Train 1

Here is the 1010 loco in black and silver. Know it looks white in the picture but in fact it is silver in color.  Currently sitting on the front porch of our summer residence on the "one loop" layout where all the scenery is whatever your imagination can conjure up!

Hafner Train 2 loco & T

Here is the consist, Overland Route Refrigerator Car, Hafner Streamlined Railway Gondola (per the logo on the car center) , and plain red Caboose, but also with "Hafner" embossed on the side in raised lettering.

Hafner Train 3 consist

This box was sort of an "extra" that came with the set.  It is apparently a box for the engine as perhaps a separate sale item.  It lists the address as ...Hafner Manufacturing Co., 1010 No. Kolmer Ave. , Chicago, Ill. (note the address, I have heard that the address is one of the reasons Hafner numbered his engines 1010).  The box advertises that it contains an "Engine and Key"  ...which of course is permanently attached.  No mention of the tender, cars, and track all of which came with the set as I found it but could never have fit into this box.

Well Happy Tinplate July 4 th.to everyone
