Following up on last week's discussion of the fate of Distler under the Nazi regime I'm offering photos of the Kraus Fandor version of the Bing double bogie Mitropas. Kraus ended up with the Bing stampings for these beautiful cars. As for Ernest Voelk: There is an excellent discussion of the takeover of Trix in Tony Mathewman's The History of Trix pp. 25-31. Interestingly Ernest Voelk also ended up the Chairman of German Trix. Mathewmann comments: "Although the hands of Ernest Voelk were tied by the harsh regulations and laws of the Nazi regime, he was very helpful in many ways in trying to get the best deal for the previous owners of the company (Stephan Bing and H. Oppenheim) under very difficult circumstances."
