An issue with the Legacy 360W PowerMaster was highlighted in another topic that I liked discussed.  Its not so much a problem with the PM360, but how I want to use it.

BACKGROUND: I currently use TPC400s on my layout.  The TPC can accept up to 400 watts input, and has one transformer input to accept this power and any transformer can be used.  Lionel PowerMasters can be used, but you must get an adapter plug or cut off the PoHo's plug to attach to the TPC.  You can use one PoHo for power, or a Y cable to attach two PoHos to that one input to get 360 watts.  I use one PoHo for most running, but need both PoHos when I bring out my long passenger train.

Lionel has not yet put the PM 360's manual on their web page, but discussions on the forum show the PM 360 has two input connector jacks designed just for the PowerHouse plug.  Lionel has a caution that states: "Always use two PowerHouse power supplies.  Never operate with only one PowerHouse."  So my specific questions are:

1.  What is the danger, or what will be damaged, if using only one PowerHouse connected to the 360W PowerMaster?

2.  Can a Y adapter, connecting one PowerHouse to the two connector jacks on the 360W PowerMaster, be used?  I assume the power input switch setting would be set at 270W.

Thanks.

ADDED:  Dave Olson gave an excellent answer to this in a different topic.  I'd post the link but don't know how to do it on my iPad.  The topic was Legacy PowerMaster 360 power supplies.
