Reply to "What Did You Buy at York?"

When I saw Alex Malliae's pics of the Korber booth, I was very excited because I noticed that they had one of the 2-stall engine houses on display. I've been interested in it since they announced it at the October York, but it never appeared on their website. So I made Korber my second priority on Thursday (got there just after noon). I was able to measure the structure and determined it would fit on my layout. They had the standard 24" kits available for sale, but, having little artistic talent, I wanted the built up/painted/lighted version. I spoke to Alex (who was manning the booths with his delightful wife) and told him I was interested in one, and he immediately offered me the one on display... soooo, I am now the proud owner of an Alex Malliae original (and signed!!!) Korber engine house. And before the purists have a canary and the rivet counters pop one, in my little 14x16 world, large steamers use diesel houses!!! Really wish I had the room for a turntable and roundhouse, but that's a whole other issue.
