Thanks Chris for the tip. I’m putting the Lionel trucks on the All Nations Boxcar and yes I need to fill the holes to re- tap them to get the right look they were set forward to much
Lee had another idea if you're interested.... Find a bolt and nut in the size you want to mount the trucks to the car floor, then epoxy the nut in place with a steel washer to anchor them together and to the floor of the boxcar... If you use a good epoxy and apply a light coat of oil on the bolt (small machine screw), it won't bond to the nut and will keep the epoxy out of the threads.... With a second washer on the opposite side of the floor, the machine screw could actually serve as your "clamp" while the epoxy sets up... Then voila you'll have basically installed a threaded metal insert for a couple of cents worth of parts.
