Thanks Chris for the tip. I’m putting the Lionel trucks on the All Nations Boxcar and yes I need to fill the holes to re- tap them to get the right look they were set forward to much

Lee had another idea if you're interested....  Find a bolt and nut in the size you want to mount the trucks to the car floor, then epoxy the nut in place with a steel washer to anchor them together and to the floor of the boxcar...     If you use a good epoxy and apply a light coat of oil on the bolt (small machine screw), it won't bond to the nut and will keep the epoxy out of the threads....  With a second washer on the opposite side of the floor, the machine screw could actually serve as your "clamp" while the epoxy sets up...  Then voila you'll have basically installed a threaded metal insert for a couple of cents worth of parts.

I never thought of that I have a Lionel Standard “O” gondola that has give me fits about the truck height. I think your idea will work on it I will post the repair when I get to it I was just looking at it this evening in the garage. Thanks for all your help. There’s not Home Depo near me but there’s a Menards I’ll check there to see it they have any S&K aluminum stock.  If that don’t work there’s a hobby lobby across the  highway  from where Menards is  i’ll check there also
