Should smoke shoot out of the remote couplers on my new 1935020 Bethlehem Track Mobile when the coupler is activated? Here is a short video of what is happening. I have never seen smoke come out of a remote coupler before.
John, I have never seen smoke come out of remote coupler before either..... I am thinking that either the insulation on the coil wire, or the tape they wrapped the coil in is overheating and smoking in which case it's likely going to fail. I can't think of anything else that could explain smoke.... unless the design has changed, remote couplers are electro-magnetic coils... I guess if the coil was designed and built correctly the other variable that could cause overheating could be too high a voltage being sent out by the control board...
