I had all the accessory lights on as well as a heater. Last night's prep work proved to be time well spent. Everything worked! Then I powered up the track and handed him the remote for my LC+ Southern 4501. I had the engine parked out of sight in the steam shop. As it rolled out, he looked like a kid on Christmas morning. I operated the switches and smoke fluid. He coupled up to my Southern passenger cars and had a blast. He ran for three hours. My layout made a good impression. We discussed future additions and exchanged meaning conversation on life in general. There will be more quality train time soon. My Father had fun. My heart is full.
