Not advice, just recalling my attempt long ago. Everyone has color preferences when it comes to weathering track and ties. I have Atlas and I tried the marker technique and acrylics for coloring. But the marker just didn't capture the look I envisioned. When I did my "Not quite a complete redo" I had a lot of track to do and the Atlas ties as well. I just used Rusto earth brown camo and it has worked for me for the light on my layout. The most important thing for me was dulling the track shine and plastic looking ties. Hope to see more of your work.
