Meanwhile, back at the bench. To accommodate future LED lighting on the layout, a DC power supply would be needed. I had purchased NOS, Power 1 circuitry and sundry months ago, but had put off assembling it all until this week. A typical large plastic electric project box was a tad too small, but that didn't matter, since one open end was necessary for air flow. Fixed voltages are 3.3VDC@15A, 5VDC@8A and 12VDC@1A and monitored from an old MRC gauge through 3 momentary buttons mounted in their won project box. Once operational, it became obvious after accidentally touching the heat sink that extra cooling should be added. A convenient 3 volt DC tap up front was perfect for the addition of a small fan. I'll know better on how successful this project was when it's operational under load.
