Mark- I use fun-tak to hold my little people in place. Don't know how it would do on a moving train but worth a shot. The stuff never hardens or dries out.

Elliot- your wife is a saint! Actually does some train related shopping for you too! I have a couple of Woodland Scenics silicone rock molds. The plaster pops right out of them every time.
