Thank you Mark. Its been an interesting experience. I want to be very careful about alignment, getting the track level both longitudinally and across the track and avoid kinks. All that makes for good running . I have used preformed 089 gargraves curves on the upper level and it has proven to be so much easier than hand bending the curve as I had done on the lower level and on previous layouts. It is well worth the extra cost , Its a blessing for me also as I have macular degeneration and getting a smooth curve is often difficult because of the distorted images I do see. You do learn to compensate by ones sense of touch and feel for smoothness.
This is an interesting thread. I find the work that Forumites share here to be inspiring. Nice to seelayouts being built and the trains operated.
