The bridge scene looks great! As to the transition track section, I have never used one. I would think power would be transferred just as any other connection, so it seems to me you just have a bad connection somewhere not particular to the transition section. Maybe you need another power connection somewhere. 
Oh, I just remembered to comment on that load of Menards auto carriers you have! They look very sharp down the track a ways!!
