Well, I guess it’s official, Mitch - you’re from the Twilight Zone  

I remember riding in these cars in my younger days (using standard 3rd rail shoes, NOT trolley poles)... the conductor had to stand spanning two cars to operate the doors. You can just make out the foot ledges below the clear headlights. And just to the left of the front window is one of the hand holds - the conductor had to press the plunger at the top of the hand hold to open/close the doors. On rainy or snowy days, I’m sure this was a miserable job on lines that were above ground!!!
