I have never had an issue with Lionel parts, service and sales. For the most part up u too a few years ago I could say the same for MTH. Have you tried to get a replacement board for a PS3 \ PS2 engine in the last 18 months? Darn near impossible and they know it's an issus. Parts and after sale support rule just talk to any high quality manufacturer. Trains, appliances, cars doesn't matter, support rules my buy.

Try getting an R4LC, DCDS, DCDE, RS4, RS5, RS5.5, or RS6 board from Lionel. There one day, gone the next.
