Carl, if you are still with us on this, I was glancing through the All Electronics current catalog (yes, a real live PAPER catalog!) and came across what looks like the original connectors you referenced. (allelectronics.com)

Its called a LOSI connector set, Micro T/B/DT, cat # CON-860. $1.00 a pair.
