i would like to see lionel develop a simple track layout program for all their different tracks. all the programs i have seen are way too complicated also many of them get involved in secenery. it would also be nice to give a table length and width and have the computer design different layouts.
switch tracks straight length can be 14 1/4" or 15 5/8" depending on configuration. this makes it very difficult to match lengths on the other side of the loop. to do two loops i bought about a $1000 worth of track and switches and returned about $250 worth. i bought many pieces i didn't use but there is no way to know what sizes you might need. a lionel computerized track system would not make the job easier but would sell mure track. i want to expand my system because it is very basic but its too complicated to know what size and amount of track i need.
